Tom White

Tom is the lead photographer and driving force behind Active Optics! He started getting into photography in the winter of 2018. Mostly doing landscapes and general outdoor photos at the time, he quickly got into ultimate frisbee photography and latched onto that as a true passion when not actually playing. Things picked up in the summer of 2019 with Tom traveling all over the northeast to capture ultimate tournaments and eventually linking together with Logan to create Active Optics! The photography stayed strong until Tom moved from Connecticut to Vermont in November 2019. Struggling to find the time and with the Covid pandemic happening in 2020, Tom took a long break from photography. 2020 turned into early summer of 2021 when Tom decided to make a move to the Raleigh, North Carolina area. After settling in he decided to pick the camera back up again and get Active Optics rolling again.

When not doing photography Tom can be found playing ultimate frisbee, gaming on his PC, playing D&D, going on hikes, or anything he believes might be a good time. Not one to take himself too seriously he always tries have fun and keep things light wherever he’s at. He is incredibly proud of the works he does and the scope of Active Optics has and he can’t wait to see what the future has in store for both Active and himself.
